Urban Knowledge Discovery Lab

Mahdieh Allahviranloo

I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, the City Colloge of New York , CUNY, with special focus on Transportation systems.

My research is focused on travel behavior analysis, activity pattern recognition, urban forms and its impacts on travelers' choices, transportation networks modeling, and system resliency analysis. I integrate different techniques of data-mining, statistical analysis, and optimization models to study the movement of individuals in urban areas. Currently, I am studying the impacts of such disruptive transportation modes as collaborative logistics, shared ownerships, and shared-mobility on travel behavior, and consequently on shaping future urban areas.

Education:

I have a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of California Irvine, Master of Science Degree in Tranportation Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology and Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
